But poker isn’t some sort of widget that comes with easy to assemble instructions. There are a wide variety of games with different rules (and strategies). There are even different betting structures (like Limit versus No Limit) and different game formats (like normal “ring” games versus tournaments). Here are a variety of links to pages on this site that deal with the basics, from game rules to hand rankings to basic strategies. After a bit of reading, these days the best way to learn how to play poker is by playing the free poker games at an Million Euros Online Casino Payout — or even just watching others play. It’s very simple to do, you download the software, sign up (doesn’t cost anything unless you eventually play for real money) then click one of the active tables and watch how the game moves and how Poker Amex hands are played. If you want to play, click an open seat on a free-play table and start playing. The learning process is greatly accelerated, and you don’t need to rely on friends to put together a game. Online there are always games to play or watch. Naturally free games are wilder and somewhat unrealistic compared to money games, but in terms of offering a way to learn the fundamentals, nothing else in history compares.PlayWinningPoker.com aims to help players learn to win at online poker , but before you can win at poker, you need to learn how to play poker!

New: DeepStack Open Cannes Satellites
Posted by Steven, February 2, 2012 In just over a months time, poker players will descend upon the French Riviera and hit the red carpets of Cannes. This wont be due to a desire to participate in a film festival or in anticipation of seeing beautiful starlets from around the world, but rather because of interest in an exciting deepstack poker tournament. The DeepStack Open (DSO) Cannes Main Event will be staged from March 15th – 18th, 2012 at the Casino Cannes Croisette in Cannes and will feature a field composed of some of the best players in Europe. Players at Titan Poker can win their DSO seats at a newly launched satellite tournament series. A weekly Super Satellite tournament is staged on Thursday nights with a 80+8 buy-in, and with re-buys and an add-on available. Winning players at the Super Satellites will each receive a 1,250 prize package that includes the 500 + 50 buy-in to the Main Event; 480 for 4 nights accommodation in a double room at the Gray d’Albion, March 15th March 19th, 2012; 15 for handling fees; and 205 for flights and spending. Players will start their game play in Cannes on Day 1B, March 16th, 2012. The starting stack will be 50,000 chips, as is appropriate to deepstack poker tournaments. Many Titan Poker players know how to employ the special strategies needed to do well in deepstack poker events. The opportunity to win a DeepStack Open Cannes seat is not one to be missed.

Reflections on the Full Tilt Poker Smear Campaign
published on 09/21/11 at 4:18 pm With all the news coming out about Full Tilt Poker and a so-called Ponzi scheme, I felt the need to say something. First, let me start by saying that Full Tilt Poker is a class organization that has treated this organization and overseas bank accounts fairly throughout the years. Howard Lederer and Jesus Ferguson are honest, trust worthy individuals. Not to mention, Rafe Furst, although he did move to Mexico, I can only say his work with charities and the Bad Beat on Cancer have garnered the utmost respect from me. Second, it is a shame to see the U.S. government stick their noses into something that was good for the poker industry, the nations economy, and an individuals self esteem. The majority of players online are terrible and just give money to the lucky few. But these players kept depositing funds into their accounts, helping my lifestyle with a variety of extravagant needs. So what a player did not know about the inner processes of Full Tilt, did not hurt them. They would never have withdrawn funds in the first place. Third, all these dopes posting about a 400 million dollar hole in Full Tilt Pokers finances, do not know one thing about international finance. 99% of their money is in overseas accounts. To get their money into U.S. accredited bank accounts takes several months, due to the Patriot Act. I believe Mr. Lederer and Mr. Ferguson are just waiting for the funds to go through the proper channels and everyone will be promptly paid. So let us stop slinging the proverbial mud at Full Tilt Poker. We need to let this show trial run its course and in the end, you shall all see that they are innocent of all charges.

The strategy to shut down Full Tilt Poker stolen from Jack Abramoff’s playbook
This article is a writers political view or opinion and submitted content and does not entirely represent pokerbloggs.com Poker Domain Seizures Part 4 The strategy to shut down Full Tilt Poker stolen from Jack Abramoffs playbook Jack Abramoff Photo Image Jack Abramoff is the most famous lobbyist of all time. Why am I bringing his name up on a poker blog? Well, Ive been doing a serious of articles exposing corruption at the highest levels of Washington DC and Las Vegas: Domain Seizures Part 3Domain Seizures Part 2Domain Seizures Part 1 addendumDomain Seizures Part 1 Unlike most people who are begging for regulation of online poker, Im doing the opposite. I will not beg to government officials to do what I want in privacy of my own home (as long as Im not hurting anyone). The wool is being pulled over the whole online poker community by the NFL, Caesars/Wynn, Fair Play USA, and the PPA. These companies are using the masses of online poker players to beg congress to legalize something that is not illegal in the first place. Eric Holder himself could not say whether it was game of skill or not in front of a senate DOJ over site committee: He is quoted as saying beyond my capabilities and Do you think Phil Ivey is just lucky, he is the worlds greatest poker player? asked Democratic Representative Steve Cohen of Tennessee. I am not sure I know who Phil Ivey is, but I am sure there is some degree of skill that is involved, some degree, I am not a poker player myself, Holder replied. The reason Im bringing up Jack Abramoff and Eric Holder is that they were both lobbyist for major DC firms. They both stifled competition to benefit their clients. In the case of Eric Holder, he went from making $2 million a year for Covington and Burling to $150,000 as Attorney General. And now all of his former clients are benefiting??? Jack went to jail for 3 and 1/2 years and Eric Holder is in one of the highest positions of the US Government. But one could argue that Frank Fahrenkopf (American Gaming Association lobbyist for Caesars) would be more comparable to Jack. Frank and Jack are/were both beloved Republicans with ties to the very top (Bush Family). Both are/were lobbyists that worked for the casino industry. both fought bills prohibiting online gambling and both used influence to stifle competition for their clients, and both funneled money to congress representatives to pass their initiatives. Jack has reevaluated lobbying in his new book Capitol Punishment: The Hard Truth About Washington Corruption From Americas Most Notorious Lobbyist Amazon.com Widgets He writes it continues today, unabated by reform campaigns or public ire at the Congress. Most of these legislators had taken thousands of dollars from my clients and firms, and now they were sitting as impartial judges against me. Washington hypocrisy at its best, I know that, barring a torch and pitchfork uprising, no real changes will occur. the lure of post-public service lobbying employment needs to be eliminated, If you chose to serve in Congress or on a congressional staff, you should be barred for life from working for any company, organization, or association which lobbies the federal government. Jack spent 3 and 1/2 years in jail for fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy to bribe public officials. The only problem is that this sort of thing is going on as we speak. Jack had committed conspiracy to bribe public officials to shut down Indian Casinos. He later would bilk them out of millions to persuade congress to let them open up again. Jack and his partner Michael Scanlon attempted to bilk (Jack would most likely disagree with this term) the Native Americans out of 85 million dollars. He still claims to have done the Indians a favor because of the millions they reaped after his services. The most incredible similarity I found between Jack Abramoff and Michael Scanlons scandal and the online poker seizures is that of Sun Cruz Casinos. This is almost identical to the attack on online poker and specifically Full Tilt Poker. You see, Sun Cruz was the internet poker of the time so to speak. It eluded the regulation of the brick and mortar cartel of casinos in the USA that is funded by Michael Milken. Something had to be done to keep the kleptocracy going, so using their influence in congress, Jack Abramoff used his friends at Americans for Tax Reform to funnel money to Rep. Bob Ney and others to apply pressure to shut down Konstantinos Gus Boulis and his SunCruz Casinos. This is not unlike Covington and Burling attaching bills in the middle of the night to port security bills or using their shill Eric Holder to confiscate online poker domains. In my opinion, American International Center LLC (a company that was set up by Abramoff and Michael Scanlon) is not unlike Fair Play USA. Fair Play USA is a fake grass roots organization or Astro-turf company financed by Caesars Entertainment. They act to influence lawmakers just as Ralph Reed did for Jack Abramoffs benefit. They also ask poker players to call their congressman, write letters, etc etc. So if they were ever exposed as what they are they could say you asked for regulation. Here is one of Fair Play USA principles rovide tools to crack down on unlicensed foreign operators who do not comply with U.S. law; removing U.S. banks as the enforcers under UIGEA and empowering law enforcement to shut down illegal operators. This is simply Caesars paying ex Homeland Security Tom Ridge and Ex FBI Louis J. Freeh to use their buddies to wipe out (or lower the price of) Full Tilt Poker. SunCruz Casinos forced into bankruptcy even though they were highly lucrative business More similarities exist between SunCruz and Full Tilt Pokers shut down. Jack Abramoff was an attorney at Greenberg Traurig and was used to seek a buyer for the troubled SunCruz Casinos. Jeff Ifrah is Full Tilt Poker Attorney and was an attorney at Greenberg Traurig and is helping facilitate deal for buyer for Full Tilt Poker. Jeff is still a shareholder at Greenberg. Instead of keeping his fiduciary duties of getting his client out of trouble, Jack teamed up with a shady character named Adam Kidan. Adam Kidan would be the buyer for SunCruz Casinos if he had the cash. He didnt have all the cash and committed fraud to produce a fake wire transfer of $23 million. One could compare Kidan to Bernard Tapie.Bernard Tapie PhotoBernard Tapie is the shady French character that is looked to as the savior for the Full Tilt Sale. Adam Kidan and Bernard Tapie both have shady past, both didnt have the money on their own, and both are front men. So lets get a little refresher course: Bob Ney = Jon KylAdam Kidan = Bernard TapieCaesars/Wynn/Milken = The MoneyFair Play = Ralph ReedSunCruz / Indian Casinos = Full Tilt PokerJeff Ifrah = Huge billing like Jack had at GreenbergRay Bitar = Konstantinos Gus BoulisAGA Frank J. Fahrenkopf = Jack AbramoffHarry Mason Reid = Tom Delay Adam Kidan Photo Adam Kidan would end up getting stabbed multiple times by Konstantinos Gus Boulis when he tried to push Gus out of the business. Konstantinos Boulis would later be murdered after the attack and subsequent sale falling into disarray. Three members of the Gambino crime family were arrested for the professional hit on Boulis. $250,000 was traced by investigators from Kidan to the mobsters. Kidan claimed the money was for catering and security and investigators believed him. Anthony Moscatiello and fellow hitmen Konstantinos Boulis the owner of SunCruz Casinos and founder of Miami Subs Full Tilt Poker is like a resource rich Indian Reservation with casinos or a profitable International Cruise Line casino multiplied by 10. All of the issues it has with money is a result of the UIGEA which was attached by a lobbyist for the NFL. The NFL has future gambling initiatives and is really influenced by the Rooney family which owns the Steelers and Casinos up and down the east coast. The UIGEA was tailored to the Rooneys for their Horse tracks and Poker Rooms. When Full Tilt Poker aligned with stations casinos, it was a threat to the Caesars/Wynn/NFL cartel on future online gambling. The members of TWO PLUS TWO are going to have to come to realize that they are being used by lobbyist to pressure legislators on bills that will restrict their freedoms and cost them money down the road. Amazon.com Widgets Im saying it now: Two Plus Two is being used just like Focus on Family was to email congress and make phone calls. This will only benefit a future Caesars/Wynn/Milken online gambling monopoly. I believe the whole strategy to shut down Full Tilt Poker was taken directly from Jack Abramoffs lobbyist playbook. I believe he is more relevant than ever. He even admits in his sixty minutes interview that lobbying (in its current form) is bribery and nothing less: 60 Minutes InterviewAbramoff: I think people are under the impression that the corruption only involves somebody handing over a check and getting a favor. And thats not the case. The corruption, the bribery, call it, because ultimately thats what it is. Thats what the whole system is. Stahl: The whole systems bribery? Abramoff: In my view. Im talking about giving a gift to somebody who makes a decision on behalf of the public. At the end of the day, thats really what bribery is. But it is done everyday and it is still being done. The truth is there were very few members who I could even name or could think of who didnt at some level participate in that. So is Jack Abramoff truly for more regulations against lobbyist? Has jail given him time to think? Or, is he simply working some new angle for a return to politics or main stream media? I really dont know but I would like to think he changed while he was in prison and is exposing corruption for the good of the American people. Im going to give him the benefit of doubt unless he proves me wrong.

Pius Heinz wins 2011 WSOP
The 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event title has finally been claimed. Pius Heinz, a 22-year-old professional poker player from Cologne, Germany, took the title holding Ace-King against Martin Staszko’s Ten-Seven. Neither hand improved and Heinz took home $8.7 million with ace-high. Not only was Heinz the first German to win the Main, he was the first to sit at the final table. Over 6800 players from 85 different nations started the event over 13 days, with a prize pool of $64,540,858. The top 693 cashed and the tournament broke, as usual, over a period of five months between the body of the event and the final table, the “November Nine.” Notably, third-place finisher Ben Lamb was looking to culminate a sick, sick run at the WSOP. He place in five consecutive tournaments, making the final table of four of them, and winning one of them. This unheard-of streak locked him up solidly for the WSOP Player of the Year title. For the first time, the Main Event was broadcast (almost) live. There was a delay of several minutes to limit the ability of players to exploit the private pocket card cameras. Although this could potentially allow players to learn about very recent hands during breaks, creating a unique angle on the most important final table of the year. The continuing high turnout of the WSOP is taken as proof that the allure of poker continues throughout the world despite a federal crackdown against online poker. # Player Earnings Country 1 Pius Heinz $8,715,638 Germany 2 Martin Staszko $5,433,086 Czech Republic 3 Ben Lamb $4,021,138 United States 4 Matt Giannetti $3,012,700 United States 5 Phil Collins $2,269,599 United States 6 Eoghan O’Dea $1,720,831 Ireland 7 Bob Bounahra $1,314,097 Belize 8 Anton Makiieveskyi $1,010,015 Ukraine 9 Sam Holden $782,115 United Kingdom Copyright 2011 Ace Nine, LLC Legal | Contact Us | Site Map

Strategy with Kristy: Randal Flowers Discusses Bluffing Preflop
November 10 2011, Kristy Arnett Related Articles Strategy with Kristy Podcast: Amanda Musumeci Discusses WSOP Main Event Strategy with Kristy Podcast: Ben Wilinofsky Discusses Short-Stack Strategy Strategy with Kristy: Andrew Seidman Discusses His Book, Easy Game Share It Tags Poker Strategy, PokerNews Podcast, PokerNews Strategy, Randal Flowers, Tournament Strategy Print Randal Flowers, 23, has accumulated more than $2.7 million in tournament winnings, including two World Poker Tour titles. For this edition of Strategy with Kristy, brought to you by South Point, Flowers sits down with Kristy Arnett to discuss bluffing preflop. Here is a snippet from the interview: How do you balance the need to steal with the fact that these days many players know that you’re stealing? If I have a very aggressive player or two to my left and I’m in late position, and there’s an obvious weak [player in the] big blind, I don’t know how often I’m going to open very light. I’m anticipating getting flatted, and people messing with me after the flop because they know I don’t have that great of a range. A lot of times, the general strategy should change to fold. Play tighter if there are good aggressive players behind you. But, if no one is really messing with you, you can sneak in a raise with a pretty weak hand. With what kind of range are you willing to go for blind steals? Well, live is way different than online, and I haven’t played online in so long that I guess my strict math fundamentals aren’t as good as they should be. When you play live, people look at their hands before they’re supposed to, so I could be in the hijack and know the guy on the button is already holding his cards that he wants to fold. So then, I’m really in the cutoff. You should play way, way more hands in live poker, in my opinion. What raise size do you prefer? I vary my raise sizing more than most, but generally, I think 2.5 times the big blind is fine. What really matters is, if it’s really early in the tournament, and you’re very deep, I would recommend raising 3 times. Maybe midway through the tournament, when there still aren’t antes and the average stack is around 50 big blinds, I think under 2.5 times is probably better because you’re risking 250 to win 150 if the blinds are 50/100. With no antes, if you get three-bet, it puts you in a tough spot. You’re never really getting a good price so depending on stack sizes, I think you can risk less.

U.S. House to Hold Online Poker Hearing
Submitted on Tue, 2010-05-18 00:00 The U.S. House Ways and Means Committee will meet on May 19, 2010 at 9:30 am in the Longworth House Office Building. The focus of the hearing is to consider the fate of online poker in the U.S. in connection with “The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act” (UIGEA) that is scheduled to go into effect on June 1, 2010. Invited Testimony The U.S. House committee press release has said that the point is to “hear witnesses, oral testimony at this hearing will be from invited witnesses only.” The release also notes, “However, any individual or organization not scheduled for an oral appearance may submit a written statement for consideration by the Committee and for inclusion in the printed record of the hearing.” What is the UIGEA? This law prohibits anyone from accepting payments from someone if they know those payments are connected to illegal Internet gambling. However numerous Representative and Senators have been involved in excluding poker, which is considered to be a game of skill, from the law. Importance of this Meeting The meeting could be the start of the a movement in the U.S. House and Senate that would legalize online poker. There are numerous bills on tap that are designed to protect online poker in the U.S.
